FAQ
What is U-Space Berlin?
A collaborative testbed researching the safe, practical, and sustainable application of drone technology in urban Berlin.
Where does the name come from?
U-Space refers to an EU airspace where digital systems coordinate many drones simultaneously. This technology plans flight paths precisely and actively prevents collisions so that drones can fly safely and efficiently alongside manned aviation in urban areas.
Are drones safe?
Yes, our drones are very safe because they are built to be small and lightweight. They feature smart protection systems as well as an integrated parachute so that they can land gently and controlled on the ground at any time, even in the event of a technical error.

Support ethical healthcare innovation
How can drones support clinics?
The Institute for Applied Innovation in Healthcare (ITAC) at Akkon University's Applied Sciences researches the ethical use of drones in healthcare. Share your expertise on air delivery to help us set new standards.
