Symposium #1 – “Vom Fliegen und Fliehen”
This opening symposium explores the historical and cultural dimensions of flying in the city. It reflects on how aviation and drone technologies reshape perceptions of urban space and the airspace above it, establishing the conceptual framework for the series.
The symposium series “Luftraum Stadt” creates a space for exchange and discussion. Across three symposia and one session at re:publica, experts and members of the urban community come together to explore the future of urban airspace in Berlin.
The series contributes to an ongoing public debate on how emerging technologies—such as drones and urban air mobility—are transforming the airspace above cities, and what this means for society, infrastructure, and governance.
