Session at re:publica – part of the “Luftraum Stadt” series
This session is part of the symposium series “Luftraum Stadt”, which creates a space for exchange and discussion on the future of urban airspace in Berlin.
At re:publica 2026, Tobias Biehle and Simon Wöhr present the perspective of U-Space Berlin on the growing role of drones in urban environments.
The session focuses on participation and accessibility in emerging urban air mobility, exploring the transition from experimentation to everyday use. It addresses key challenges such as safety, noise, data protection, transparency, and public participation. It also highlights that urban airspace is not predetermined, but can be actively shaped through political and strategic decisions toward a fair and sustainable future.
re:publica is a festival for digital society. Since 2007, Europe’s leading conference on digital culture and society has brought together key voices of our time and provides a platform for debate and exchange—both in Berlin and internationally.
See you at the event.
